My Philosophy of Education

Teaching is an all-around profession that represents a new challenge for us every day. I got hooked on it when I began to think in earnest what it would become of my life; that’s why I fell in love with it as soon as I realized how important it is to educate and shape the new generations that would replace us in the years to come. Because of this, I made up my mind to study this profession and devote my life to it.

Making a little bit of history, I can tell you that I have been teaching for more than two decades and I feel happy to have done this due to the fact that I have had the opportunity to share whatever knowledge I acquired with my students throughout the daily activities in the classroom. Besides, I think that teaching is a hard profession but lovely and enlightening at the same time because it calls for certain characteristics on the part of those who endeavor to become successful teachers. Teaching does not only involve passing on knowledge but also forming men and women with right values and skills useful for society thus becoming better  and  law-abiding  citizens  who  can contribute rather than tarnish the image of our neighborhoods.

There are other points that need to be considered in this profession, that is, the level of training a teacher should have and hope to reach;  because  he or she will make the teaching-learning process a pleasant and effective activity depending on his or her proficiency , so a  good teacher, basically and above all, should master his or her subject matter; that’s why, I am always interested in learning about the new books that come out and different courses that are available at different facilities because this is a good way to gather information and go through the necessary training in order to effectively integrate the latest techniques into the curriculum I teach. Therefore, it is very important for any person who wants to become a successful educator to constantly improve his or her teaching skills because the example he or she sets in the classroom will be the model the students will follow since the teacher represents the second most valuable person after the family.

In conclusion, I would say that if you really love teaching, this profession should be your passion and you should take it seriously. You should always go an extra mile to educate at the best of your ability and you should not pass up any opportunity for your personal growth.
